Texas Roadhouse takes on the Ritz

C.W. Nevius:

“Speaking of the Ritz-Carlton, this week, atop the roof over the hotel entrance, is an inflatable 20-foot armadillo wearing a cowboy hat and sunglasses. He’s the symbol of the Texas Roadhouse restaurant’s managing partners conference. As a rule, the ritzy Ritz probably wouldn’t be thrilled with a giant blowup cartoon character on the roof. But when the Texas Roadhouse folks said they would buy out the entire hotel – 336 rooms and all the meeting space – that armadillo must have started to look pretty good.”

It looks like the low prices and the bread are keeping Texas Roadhouse in business.  (And I was hoping that someone was going to tell me they are opening an outpost in SF!)
